Bowie Resident Killed In Shopping Center Shooting: Police

A Bowie resident was fatally shot last week at a Glenarden shopping center, police said. The victim was 29 years old, officers added.

GLENARDEN, MD — Police identified the deceased victim of last Thursday's Glenarden shopping center shooting as 29-year-old Rien Green of Bowie. Officers added that two other victims were also shot. The incident happened around 10:30 outside the Silver Diner in the Woodmore Towne Centre, the Associated Press reported.

Medics took all three victims to an unnamed hospital where Green died soon after, a press release noted. Doctors released one victim who they expect to survive, the write-up informed. The third victim is in critical condition, police stated.

Investigators don't think this was a random crime. Detectives said they are still searching for a motive and potential suspect(s). The Prince George's County Police Department handles all homicides in the City of Glenarden.
