Bowie Resident Wins $40K VaxCash MD Lottery Prize For June 23

BOWIE, MD — A lucky Bowie resident woke up Wednesday morning with an extra $40,000 after winning the daily $2 million VaxCash Promotion for Maryland Lottery.

Wednesday’s winner joins the list of six residents from Prince George’s County and 29 vaccinated Marylanders to claim the prize from the Maryland Lottery.

Marylanders aged 18 and older who have been vaccinated in Maryland are automatically registered into the lottery promotion. If you would like to get vaccinated before the lottery promotion ends, visit Maryland's GoVax website to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

Since May 25, the Maryland Lottery has awarded one vaccinated person $40,000 every day to encourage Maryland residents to get the COVID-19 vaccination.

According to the Maryland Department of Health, 73.2 percent of Marylanders ages 18 and up have at least received the first dose of the vaccination with a statewide total of 3,275,165 fully vaccinated residents.

As of Wednesday, 6,671,766 people in the state have received a vaccination, and 29 received an additional $40,000 for it.

There are 10 drawings remaining in the VaxCash promotion before the final winner is selected on July 4 taking home the grand prize of $400,000.

To receive the prize, the selected winners must sign a "$2 Million VaxCash Promotion Authorization Form" from the Maryland Department of Health that will allow the department to release the information to the Maryland Lottery.
