Bowie Searches for New At-Large Councilmember

Residents can apply for the position until Dec. 31.

As former At-Large Councilmember Todd Turner takes his new seat on the Prince George’s County Council, Bowie is in need of a new person to join the Council.

The selected candidate will serve from the day they are sworn in to Nov. 2015, when a new member is chosen in the election.

In order to be considered for the Councilmember position, each candidate is required to:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have resided in the City of Bowie for at least one year
  • Be a qualified voter in the City of Bowie

In order to apply, applicants should send a letter of interest and resume to the City Clerk, Awilda Hernandez, at Bowie City Hall, 15901 Excalibur Road, Bowie, MD 20716 by the end of the business day Dec 31.

The Council consists of the mayor, two Councilmembers elected at-large, and four Councilmembers elected by their districts.
