Bowiefest 2019 is happening on Saturday. Here's everything you need to know about it.

BOWIE, MD -- If it's the start of summer, it's time for Bowiefest, which takes place on Saturday for the 42nd year.
Bowiefest "brings the best of Bowie’s civic organizations, entertainers, and businesses together in one place," the website states, noting that there will be lots of food, beverages, and entertainment for the whole family at the event.

WHEN: Saturday, June 1, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
WHERE: Allen Pond Park, 3330 Northview Drive

WHAT: "Bowiefest, brings the best of Bowie’s civic organizations, entertainers, and businesses together in one place at Allen Pond Park. Around the pond, you can sample food from area vendors including pulled pork, pit beef, corn dogs, cotton candy, funnel cakes, Italian sausage, frozen fruit drinks, and fresh-squeezed lemonade. There will be an arts and crafts area, sponsored by the Soroptimist International - Prince George's & Anne Arundel Counties and a Business Section sponsored by the Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce. Three stages with entertainment and children’s ride section.
"There will be moon bounces, pony rides, a rock climbing wall, face painting, and a host of other activities throughout the park for children. The Children’s stage will feature entertainment such as a kids’ fitness and yoga demonstration, a magic show, a Reptiles Alive show, and songs from the Nature Troubadours. The Bowie Education Committee will also give away children’s books at its booth."
ADMISSION: Free
PARKING: You can park at Allen Pond Park, on streets near the park, or at the Park and Ride lot on Northview Drive. There will be a free shuttle bus from the Park and Ride lot sponsored by Bowie Marketplace Chick-fil-a, which will give a free food voucher card to riders. The shuttle buses will run every 20 minutes between 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
