“We have firm beliefs and our brand standards and our company standards. And we've always stated, you know, it's like, we want to provide a good place for people to work,” Darrin Atlas said.
The Atlas brothers have already hired about 90 workers, most of them working for the first time, but they said they think it will be a rewarding experience for all parties involved.
Working together as partners, the brothers were first introduced to franchising nearly eight years ago with their first restaurant, Firehouse Subs. Since then, they have expanded their businesses to nine Firehouse Subs locations, including the one located in Bowie Marketplace, and the newest Slim Chickens.
The grand opening of Bowie’s Slim Chickens marked the restaurant’s 130th location in the world, and 20th state in the county. With over 400 stores in development, Slim Chickens has locations in England, Kuwait and more.
As Slim Chickens continues to expand across the globe, the Atlas brothers said they’re honored to be a part of the restaurant chain’s expansion.
After three days of business, the Atlas brothers said they see a promising future for Slim Chickens in Bowie. Their most popular meals, chicken wings and chicken tenders, have sold quickly, along with their mason jar desserts, which sold out on the restaurant's first day in business.
The brothers also noted some of their guests who came on the first day have already returned for another visit.
Dennis Atlas said, “As for the quality of the food, we had somebody who's been here three times. He came back three times with different people, so it must be good.”
