City government will open today on a 2-hour delay. Essential employees should report on time. Employees that are able to telework should do so.
Due to icy road conditions and temperatures remaining around freezing, trash and recycling collection are canceled for today, February 1. Your next pickup will be on your next regularly scheduled day. There are no makeup days for cancelled collections.

Crews worked over night to maintain main roads and thoroughfares. Side streets, parking lots, and sidewalks are icy. Crews will continue to salt and plow city streets (where snow is deep enough) throughout the day.
Tonight's City Council Meeting will take place as scheduled.
Prince George's County vaccination sites and testing sites are closed today due to the weather. The Health Department will contact individuals by email or telephone to reschedule.
Snow is expected to taper off this evening and turn to rain. The rain may turn to sleet and freezing rain overnight. The National Weather Service is forecasting up to one additional inch of mixed precipitation by mid-morning on Monday.
Roads - Street crews have been out since early Sunday morning treating roads. They will work their work overnight to keep streets passable.
Trash and Recycling - No final decision has been made yet about Monday trash and recycling service. The decision will be announced by 6 a.m. Monday morning and will depend on road conditions and the forecast at that time.
Vaccination Info - Prince George’s County has announced that its vaccination clinics will be closed on Feb. 1 due to the snow. Patients will receive notification by email, text, or phone if their appointment has been canceled, and will receive an additional notice once patients are able to reschedule their appointments.
