Driver In Fatal PG County Hit And Run Found: MD State Police
Police say they have located both the vehicle and driver in a fatal hit-and-run in Laurel last week.

LAUREL, MD — Police say they have located both the vehicle and the driver in a hit-and-run that left a woman dead on the side of Interstate 95 in Laurel last week.
Police are not yet identifying the driver of the white and green 2017 Freightliner Cascadia, and charges are pending review by the Prince George's County State's Attorney, according to a report from Maryland State Police.
Police say 22-year-old Lourdina Hyppolite of Beltsville was discovered on the right shoulder in the grassy area of northbound Interstate 95 near Route 198 at around 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 21.

"The preliminary investigation indicates the female victim was a pedestrian who was struck by a Freightliner Cascadia on northbound Interstate 95 near Route 198 that continued to travel north on Interstate 95," a previous report states. "State police investigators were able to determine the vehicle that struck the pedestrian by the debris collected from the scene. The call came from a witness who waited for assistance to arrive. Troopers responded and found the female victim to the right of the shoulder in the grassy area with obvious injuries.
"The striking vehicle and driver fled the scene," the report . "The injured female victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Prince George’s County and Fire Medical Services Department."

The two right lanes of northbound I-95 remained closed where the body was discovered while troopers investigated.
Police received "multiple" phone calls from witnesses after the incident, which led investigators to a truck in Greensboro, N.C., the report states. They are processing evidence at the scene.
