Islamic Relief USA hosted annual Grand Iftar at National Harbor
Prominent speakers included Linda Sarsour, Khaled Latif, and Mehdhi Hasan
Islamic Relief USA held its annual Grand Iftar in packed Gaylord Convention Hall at the National Harbor on Saturday, May 19.
An estimated 1,700 attendees heard speeches from influential thought leaders from the Muslim community. They included activist Linda Sarsour, Al Jazeera journalist Mehdhi Hasan, and Imam Khaled Latif, executive director of Islamic Center at New York University.
They spoke about the challenges the Muslim community faces, along with the importance of taking action and making a difference. Recently, the nonprofit humanitarian and advocacy organization appointed Sharif Aly as is chief executive officer.
