Kacia R. Smouse, 70, Former Bowie Teacher

On Sunday, April 5, 2015, Kacia R. Smouse, a 32-year resident of Davidsonville and formerly of Cape St. Claire, passed away. Beloved wife for 48 years of Larry Smouse; loving mother of Chandra Smouse and Brian Smouse and his wife Samantha; sister of Tom Robertson; grandmother of Cassandra Barber and Nolan Smouse.

Smouse was a member of Davidsonville United Methodist Church and was on several committees there. She volunteered as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and with the Davidsonville Family Recreation Center.

She taught for ten years at Yorktown Elementary School in Bowie, and for 14 years at Central Middle School in Edgewater.

She loved to spend summers in Myrtle Beach with her family.

Family will receive friends at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), in Bowie, on Monday, April 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Davidsonville United Methodist Church, 819 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, on Tuesday, April 14, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the church’s cemetery.
