Kevin Durant Donates $10 Million For PG County Kids: Report
The NBA superstar, who grew up in Seat Pleasant, reportedly said he wants to help PG County kids go to college.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD -- NBA superstar Kevin Durant may be tearing it up on the west coast as a member of the defending champion Golden State Warriors, but he hasn't forgotten his hometown. And now he's giving $10 million to Prince George's County Public Schools and College Track, according to a report.
The Washington Post reports the College Track program will open later this year and will be the first program of its kind in this area. It will result in the opening of the Durant Center in Seat Pleasant, where Durant grew up, and it will be the first of three such facilities in the D.C. region.
The program will help students get tutoring, test preparation, and financial aid.

“I want them to see the world,” Durant told the Post. “I want them to see where people are from and see that there are things outside their world. I don’t know exactly or at what pace that they will get it, but there is a world outside that they need to see.”
