Vaccine Hotline Launched By Prince George's Library
A coronavirus vaccine hotline will help Prince Georgians find an immunization.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The Prince George's County Memorial Library System launched a hotline on April 1 to help residents schedule coronavirus vaccine appointments. The call center will book immunizations, place locals on preregistration lists and answer general inoculation questions. All this information will be available in English and Spanish at (240) 392-3622.
"Our new hotline is inspired by the tremendous crowdsourced effort of the social media-based vaccine hunter groups," said Nicholas Brown, PGCMLS chief operating officer for communication and outreach. "We are also thrilled to provide temporary part-time employment for local residents."
Capital One, a nationwide bank, awarded the library system a grant to make the hotline possible.

"The Library and the PGCMLS Foundation would like to thank Capital One Foundation for its generous grant to help us provide this essential service," said Shelley O’Brien, PGCMLS Director of Development and Donor Engagement.
The new service will help locals as the state ramps up its inoculation rollout.

Gov. Larry Hogan announced earlier this week that mass vaccination sites will now serve all Marylanders 16 or older. Every immunization provider will follow suit and expand its eligibility by Monday, Hogan declared.
With shots becoming more accessible, the library is working toward reopening. Several branches now offer curbside pickup and patrons can call (240) 455-5451 to chat with a librarian. Click here for the latest information on the library's reopening status.
