Man Charged In Death Of Woman Found At Bowie Brush Fire: Police
A D.C. man has been arrested in connection with a body found in Bowie over the summer, police say.

BOWIE, MD — D.C. police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found near a brush fire in Bowie this summer.
Firefighters responded to the 3100 block of Mill Branch Road at around 6:13 a.m. on Aug. 17 to a report of a brush fire, and they discovered a woman's body as they put out the fire, according to a report from the Metropolitan Police Department.
Police believe the woman was originally murdered inside of a residence in the 3700 block of Horner Place SE, according to the report. They identified her as 24-year-old Marquita Lucas of Northwest D.C.

Police arrested 36-year-old Thomas Fields Jr. of Southeast D.C. on a charge of first degree murder while armed (premeditated).
