FORT WASHINGTON, MD — Police have arrested a man they say tried to kidnap two women in two separate incidents in Fort Washington.

Police say 42-year-old Abdul Fuller of Upper Marlboro targeted the first woman as she walked along Stonesboro Roadat around 2 p.m. on Oct. 29, according to a report from the Prince George’s County Police Department.

“The preliminary investigation reveals he grabbed her from behind, put her in a chokehold and tried to force her into his green 1998 Ford Expedition,” the report states. “The victim’s screams alerted several nearby residents who rushed to help her. Fuller fled from the scene.”

“The victim screamed for help, again alerting another resident in the area who intervened. Fuller fled again,” the report states.

About 15 minutes later, detectives responded to the report and were talking to witnesses when the suspect returned in the same SUV used in both crimes, police say.

“When he saw the officers, he turned around and headed back onto Allentown Road,” the report states. “Patrol officers immediately stopped his SUV and took him into custody without incident.”

Police charged Fuller with attempted kidnapping, attempted kidnapping of a child under 16, and second-degree assault. He is being held without bond.

Police asked any other victims to come forward.
