MGM National Harbor Cancels Roseanne Performance

The comedian was scheduled to perform Oct. 12 before a racist tweet caused everyone to distance themselves from her.

NATIONAL HARBOR, MD -- Roseanne Barr was scheduled to perform at MGM National Harbor on Oct. 12, but that gig has been cancelled following a racist tweet that resulted in a huge uproar and her show getting cancelled on Tuesday.

Clicking on a link to the Ticketmaster page for that event results in a message that the event has been cancelled, with no further information.

It is just a small slice of the fallout that continue from Roseanne's early Tuesday morning tweet, in which she referred to Valerie Jarrett -- the African-American former adviser to Barack Obama -- as the product of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Planet of the Apes.

The resulting furor caused ABC to cancel her highly successful reboot, "Roseanne," and prompted her talent agency to drop her. Barr apologize for the comments on Twitter, but the damage was already done.

"I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks," she tweeted. "I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste."

She then pledged to log off Twitter permanently.
