National Harbor Will Livestream Fourth Of July Concert
The National Harbor, U.S. Air Force Band and Washington Performing Arts will stream an Independence Day Concert. Patch has the details.
NATIONAL HARBOR, MD — Though coronavirus has put a damper on in-person Fourth of July celebrations, livestreams remain a plentiful option for Independence Day festivities. The National Harbor is teaming up with the United States Air Force Band and Washington Performing Arts to offer an Independence Day Concert. The livestream, called "A Tribute to the American Spirit," starts at 4 p.m on July 4.
NBC4 anchor Aaron Gilchrist will host the event. Guest artists include Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell and opera singers Larisa Martinez and Solomon Howard.
Bell has performed around the world for more than 30 years. In 2007, The Washington Post wrote a Pulitzer Prize-winning story focused on Bell's undercover performances at a Washington Metro station. The story demonstrated how context determines whether world-class art receives recognition or goes by the wayside.

Martinez has also toured the globe, performing at renowned venues like Washington's John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and New York City's Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. At the Lincoln Center, Martinez sang alongside Bell in an Emmy-nominated special called "Seasons of Cuba."
Howard has performed around the world, from San Francisco to Santiago, Chile. The Denver Post has called him "superhuman," and The Guardian has praised his bass voice "a triumph."
