PG Police: Serial Fast-Food Robber Is Behind Bars

A Charles County man has been charged with armed robberies at four Prince George's fast-food restaurants.

HYATTSVILLE, MD — The Prince George's County Police Department announced Friday that its detectives tracked down and arrested a Charles County man wanted in a string of robberies at fast-food restaurants. Alan Michael Josey, 21, of Bryans Road, Md., has been charged with several counts of commercial armed robbery, and is being held on bond by the Department of Corrections.

Josey, of the 2400 block of Kipp Court, has been linked to four recent restaurant robberies in Prince George's County over an 18-day period, the police said. Each time, he was armed with a gun. No one was injured in the robberies, which include:

  • 9 p.m. Feb. 22, in the 15700 block of Livingston Road in Accokeek
  • 9:15 p.m. March 8, in the 9500 block of Livingston Road in Fort Washington
  • 4:50 p.m. March 11, in the 8900 block of Annapolis Road in Lanham
  • 5:25 p.m. March 11, in the 5300 block of Marlboro Pike in District Heights

Josey also has been linked to a fifth robbery of a store in Anne Arundel County, the police said.

“The investigators were tenacious in following the trail of evidence piece by piece, leading them to a successful identification and arrest" in this case, said Deputy Chief Samir Patel, head of the Police Department's Criminal Investigations Bureau, in a statement.

"Our business owners can rest assured that when these types of crimes occur in our community, our detectives work tirelessly to solve them and to find those responsible,” he said.
