Playful Pooch Loves Fetch, Wants Compassionate Owners: SPCA

Louie needs somebody to rub his belly. Could it be you? The SPCA is helping this 2-year-old boxer find a loving home.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Patch recently partnered with the SPCA/Humane Society of Prince George's County. Each week, we will bring you the cutest pets looking for homes. Here are this week's adorable adoptables. Click on their names for more information.

Louie

Hi. My name is Louie and I am a young, playful boxer pup in search of my new home. I enjoy chasing balls and toys and will bring them back if you throw them, although I might not drop them right away. I love playing tug, too. (I usually win because I’m very strong.) I have a thing about rocks and branches – they just appeal to me and I like to carry them around. I also like to jump and I’m very good at it! Just watch my video!

I love getting attention from my people most of the time, but can sometimes get nervous with too much attention. I need someone who can read my body language and recognize when I need to be left alone so I don’t get more stressed out.

I’m good at letting my people know when I have to go outside. I’m working on my outside manners, like walking nicely on leash. There’s just so much interesting stuff out there! I love going for car rides, and sticking my head out the window. I sometimes have a hard time controlling my enthusiasm, so my foster mom is teaching me the Wait command.
The hardest thing is waiting for my forever family!

Ebony

Personality: I’m very shy and may be a bit scared when you first meet me, so I may want to hide in a safe place. It may take a little while until I learn to trust, but once I do, I’m super sweet and love to face bump my human and beg for treats. I love to have my face and chin scratched and would even let you rub my tummy. I’m pretty quiet, but I do like to play with wand toys and fast moving cat toys. I love to watch the birds and squirrels outside the window and nap in my safe place. I like to climb to the top of a tall cat tree and nap and look out the window.

Hobbies: Napping and begging for treats.

Favorite Toys: Feathers on string and battery-powered cat toys.

Favorite Napping Spot: A cubby hole in a cat tree.

How I Came To The SPCA: I was part of a TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) program and when I was spayed, the veterinarian noticed that I was very sweet and docile, so the PGSPCA brought me into the adoption program so I could find the perfect family to take me home.

Dream Family: My dream home would be a family that will be patient while I learn to trust them and get to know my brand new home. I prefer a quiet home where I can bond with my new family. Currently, I live with my foster mom and her cats. I get along with the other cats, but I’m also OK playing and exploring on my own. If you become my new family, it would be nice if I can stay in a smaller space that is located near my cat guardian’s daily activities and expand from there. I will need some hiding spots to go to while I adjust to and explore my new home.

Personality: I’m a bit shy when you first meet me, but I turn into a very playful and energetic kitten when I warm up. I love to play with my big foster brother cat and enjoy playing with wand toys and anything that moves really fast! Sometimes I get the zoomies and then have to nap for a couple of hours. I’m very food motivated and chicken and cat treats are my absolute favorite!

Hobbies: Playing, eating, napping, oh, and playing some more, and getting more treats.

Favorite Toys: Feathers on string and battery-powered cat toys.

Favorite Napping Spot: Any spot will do!

How I Came To The SPCA: I was part of a neighborhood TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) program. My rescuer noticed that I was super sweet and cuddly, and brought me to the PGSPCA so I could find the perfect family.

Dream Family: I am looking for a home where I can romp and play. I’m usually pretty energetic, but since I’m little, I like to nap a lot too. I’m living with my foster mom along with my foster mom’s cats and generally get along with them. It would be nice if I could have a smaller space that is located near my new family’s daily activities so that I can become accustomed to my new home before being allowed to explore the rest of the house. I may need a hiding spot or two until I learn to trust my new human family. I love food and I’m very motivated by treats and chicken.
