Police to Canvas Suitland Neighborhood Wednesday About Fatal Shooting of Young Man
Eighteen-year-old Douglas Brooks was killed in the early hours of Sunday morning in Suitland.
Prince George's County homicide detectives will be canvassing a neighborhood in Suitland Wednesday evening about the recent murder of 18-year-old Douglas "Swipey" Brooks.
Brooks was fatally shot in the 3600 block of Parkway Terrace Drive in the early hours of Sunday morning, Aug. 21.
Police said officers responded to the scene of the reported shooting around 1:05 a.m. to find Brooks outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said detectives are working to develop a possible motive for the shooting.
The neighborhood canvass is expected to begin at 6 p.m. in the 4500 block of Silver Hill Road in Suitland.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
