Pooch Who Had Surgery, Cats Who Became Best Buds Need New Homes
Reese had bladder stones and needed dental surgery. Kennedy and Freddy became best friends in their foster home. All three want new owners.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Patch recently partnered with the SPCA/Humane Society of Prince George's County. Each week, we will bring you the cutest pets looking for homes. Here are this week's adorable adoptables.
Reese is a really cute girl who has had a very difficult life. She suffered years of neglect and poor treatment. Fortunately, she was removed from very bad conditions, and taken to the shelter. From there, she was rescued by our group.

Reese had to have very large bladder stones removed, in addition to dental surgery. We are looking for a very dog-savvy adopter, who will be patient, kind, and understanding as she continues to heal emotionally. She must go to a quiet home with few visitors. If not introduced carefully to new people, she may feel cornered or scared, and has been known to snap.
All that being said, Reese is really smart, very loyal and affectionate once she trusts you. She did really well with her first foster parent, and is enjoying life in her current foster home. Reese loves to play fetch, chase her favorite toy ducky and flying pig toy, and is a wonderful walking buddy. She is very good at settling into a routine, and will happily chill out when it’s time for movie night. (She still may want to play fetch). She also likes to bring her food bowl to you when she is hungry. (It’s adorable).

We know the right person is out there who has experience with dogs that need special care. Reese is a precious companion waiting to find her home where she will feel safe and adored forever.
Reese is looking for an all-adult single-family home. She is not suitable for apartment, condo or townhouse-living.
Freddy's Personality: I may be small but I have a huge purr! I am very friendly and love to play. I chase balls, and play with toys on strings. I capture the toys and carry them around proudly. My brother and I like to wrestle and I sometimes think his tail is a toy. I like to snuggle under the blankets with my foster mom. I love to climb on the cat tree and look out the window.
Kennedy's Personality: I am friendly and like to cuddle. I like to be petted and have my chin scratched. Sometimes I even like to have my belly rubbed. I have started sleeping with my foster mom sometimes. I love to play with toys on strings – I especially like the string. I also love to catch mice (at least the stuffed ones). I love to climb on my cat tree. My brother and I like to chase each other and wrestle.
Hobbies: Playing with toys, and Freddy likes to look out the window.
Favorite Toys: Both of us like playing with string toys, Freddy also likes balls, and Kennedy likes stuffed mice and feathers.
Favorite Napping Spot: Freddy curls up under the dresser, and Kennedy lounges on the cat hammock.
How We Came To The SPCA: Freddy says: I was living outside with my siblings. We were so small the neighbors worried about us and called PGSPCA for help. My brothers were trapped pretty quickly and went into foster care, but I was too crafty and avoided the traps for two weeks! When I was finally caught, Kennedy had been found in a different part of the county and needed a friend.
Kennedy chimes in: We are now best buds and inseparable. Freddy adapted to our foster home just fine and began playing right away. It took a few days for me to be comfortable, but now I love to cuddle and play.
Dream Family: We can’t wait to find a warm and welcoming forever home together. We would love a home where we can run and play. We haven’t spent time with kids or dogs but think we could handle either. We love playing with string and balls and mice. We would love to be part of a family who will take care of us and we will love you back.
