Soccer: Bowie Girls Ready for Another Run
Bowie's varsity team made the state 4A semifinals in 2012.
Before the official start to girls soccer tryouts and practices, Bowie High's varsity players took some initiative.
The Bowie Blade reports seniors Ellen Anderson, Rachel Anderson and senior Xena Gant ran "captain's practices" over the two weeks ahead of the official start last Wednesday to help new and returning players with conditioning.
Bowie's season starts Sept. 7. The 4A South champion Bulldogs were knocked out of the 2012 playoffs by eventual 4A state champion South River.
