Sunny, Rainy and Freezing Temps?!: Week's Weather in Maryland

Not again! The extended forecast looks like we'll hit the seventies and then cool down below freezing. Here's the latest forecast.

The next week looks downright normal for spring, but don't let it fool you.

There are a few rainy days, a few sunny days, a chance for thunderstorms and daytime temperatures ranging from the 50s to the 70s.

But the extended forecast has an Easter egg we didn't want to find. Temperatures are expected to plummet next weekend.

The high Sunday, April 3, will be 49 degrees, with the low Sunday night dropping to 26 degrees. Monday night, April 4, will see temperature at or just below freezing.

Before we get there, expect clearing skies on Monday and sunshine Tuesday and Wednesday. That's followed by a chance for showers and thunderstorms near the end of the week before things start cooling off.

Here's the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Monday: Showers likely, mainly before 8am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 66. Breezy, with a south wind 6 to 11 mph becoming west 17 to 22 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 58. Northwest wind 15 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 60.

Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Friday: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 58.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 49. Breezy.
