Tractor-Trailer Shot On Capital Beltway: Police

A tractor-trailer was shot on the Capital Beltway, police said. Officers noted that they saw three bullet holes, but the driver wasn't hurt.

FORESTVILLE, MD ? Police said a tractor-trailer was shot July 11 on northbound Interstate 495 near Forestville. Officers noted that the driver was not hurt, but troopers reported finding three bullet holes and ammunition fragments in the tractor.

Authorities explained that they heard about the shots just before 1 a.m. Police added that they turned out to the Capital Beltway north of Ritchie Marlboro Road.

The truck driver told officers that he pulled over about a mile after the shots were fired, a press release mentioned. Troopers informed that they found one shell casing near D?Arcy Road.

Officials wrote that they could not find the suspected vehicle, which the victim described as a silver or gray Hyundai, Honda or Kia.

The Maryland State Police asked anybody with information to call (301) 568-8101. Tipsters can stay anonymous.
