Wendy's Mimics Chick-Fil-A With Party In Bowie
The grand re-opening bears similarities Chick-Fil-A's "First 100" parties.

BOWIE, MD -- Less than two years after Chick-Fil-A had a "First 100" party for a new restaurant in Bowie, it looks like we're going to have another one this weekend. But with a competitor this time.
Wendy's has spent the last few weeks remodeling a restaurant at 16400 Harbour Way in Bowie, and they will be holding a "grand re-opening" event on Saturday, June 16. And like Chick-Fil-A, they'll be rewarding people who get in line early.
Oftentimes when Chick-Fil-A opens a new restaurant, the franchise owner holds a "First 100" party where the first 100 customers who are in line when the restaurant opens get free food for a year. That's exactly what happened in Bowie back in November 2016. The event is a big public relations score for Chick-Fil-A, and it involves a camping party the night before where people put up tents in the parking lot.

It appears Wendy's is going to try to do something similar, announcing that the first 100 customers in line by 10 a.m. on Saturday will have the chance to win free food for a year. There's no word on whether this event will also feature a camping party the night before, however.
This Wendy's will employ about 40 people, and it will showcase a brand new design for the restaurant chain.

"The interior showcases open, bright dining areas with multiple seating options, including private booths, cozy lounge seating and a Wi-Fi bar," reads a statement. "A Coca-Cola Freestyle beverage dispenser that allows customers to customize their drink choices is also available. The touch screen, self-serve fountains offer over 100 regular and low-calorie beverages, including a variety of branded waters, sports drinks, lemonades and sparkling beverages."
