Bill was an avid sports fan, with his Virginia Tech Hokies always remaining as his top team. He always said “Once a Hokie, always a Hokie” and was proud that one of his children could share that passion with him. He enjoyed playing soccer at Bishop McNamara and rugby in his college years. He was also a Washington Redskins fan, regardless of how the season progressed.

Bill loved working in his yard, and planted a garden every season with the most amazing tomatoes.

He was always proud of his three children. One of the last times he was able to walk, he walked his daughter Becky down the aisle and danced with her at her wedding. He accepted his disease with faith and courage. “It is what it is” was his motto throughout the tough years following his diagnosis.

His family will be celebrating Bill’s life Monday, August 17, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Bowie at 10:30 am. A visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, August 16, at Beall Funeral Home in Bowie from 2-5 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to CurePSP.org in Bill’s name, so that a cure can be found.
