Beverly Seeks To Help Artists, Creatives Recover From Pandemic

BEVERLY, MA —Perhaps no other industry was hurt more throughout the past year than creatives who rely on live audiences to work their craft and make a living.

Often made up of freelancers who until recently were not eligible for traditional forms of unemployment support, the artist community went mostly silent as performance venues went dark.

Beverly is looking for ways to help its creatives get back on their feet as they prepare to get back on the stage.

The city and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council have developed a brief survey to get feedback from artists to identify and prioritize response strategies for its arts and culture community. Data will be used to create policies and support recovery initiatives for artists, arts organizations, creative activity and civic life.
