Hingham First Responders Receive Coronavirus Vaccine
Members of the Hingham Police and Fire Departments began receiving the vaccine Tuesday.
HINGHAM, MA — Hingham first responders began receiving the first dose of the Moderna vaccine on Tuesday as part of Phase I of the state's vaccine distribution plan.
The vaccines were administered by Hingham Firefighter Paramedics and implemented by the Hingham Board of Health.
"We’re fortunate that today our staff, along with other First Responders, began receiving the first round of the Moderna #COVID19Vaccine," said the Hingham Police Department in a Twitter post Tuesday afternoon.

As of Thursday, Hingham has had a total of 1,005 COVID-19 cases, with 197 reported in the two weeks leading up to Jan. 7. The city has an average daily incidence rate of 58.6 and a positivity rate of 5.29%, remaining in the "red zone", or the highest risk of virus transmission.
