UPDATE: High Wind Warning, Coastal Flood Warning Issued for Hingham

More snow and wind are on the way to Hingham.

Just as you were shoveling your way out of the last storm, here comes another one with potentially a few more inches.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Hingham that will be in effect until 1 p.m. Monday. The Blizzard Watch has been canceled and replaced with a High Wind Warning that will go into effect from 5 a.m. Monday through 7 p.m.

The NWS says snow will move into the area Sunday morning and could start as rain or a wintry mix. The heaviest snow is expected to come early Monday and continue throughout the day. About 3-5 inches of snow is expected in the area, along with winds of 15-25 mph and gusts up to 55 mph.

Visibility could be limited to a quarter-mile or less at times, according to the NWS. Roads may become impassable.

A Winter Weather Advisory is issued when periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving. A High Wind Warning is issued with sustained winds of 40 mph or higher are expected for at least one hour with gusts of at least 58 mph.

Those on the water should be aware of a Coastal Flood Warning that will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday. That warning is issued where there is a chance of moderate or major coastal flooding.
