Brockton Man Accused Of Fleeing Traffic Stop In Hingham
Police say 23-year-old Orlando N. Munoz-Gomez was stopped for a lane violation when he drove away from police.
HINGHAM, MA — A Brockton man was arrested after fleeing a traffic stop on Summer Street in Hingham early Friday morning, said the Hingham Police Department in a news release.
Police say Orlando N. Munoz-Gomez, 23, was stopped for a lane violation at approximately 2:30 a.m. when he drove away from police, leading them on a brief pursuit that was called off due to excessive speed.
During the pursuit, police say Munoz-Gomez drove through multiple stop signs and a red light before continuing into Weymouth. He crashed on Washington Street in Quincy shortly after the chase was suspended.

Munoz-Gomez and two passengers in the car, a 16 year old and a 21 year old, were removed from the vehicle following the crash, said police. Munoz-Gomez and the 16 year old passenger were taken to the hospital for evaluations. The 21 year old was not injured.
According to police, Munoz-Gomez was booked at the Hingham Police Department after being cleared from the hospital and is facing charges including failure to stop for police, negligent operation, unlicensed operation, stop sign violation, failure to drive in the right lane, red light violation, and speeding. He also had an outstanding warrant out of Brockton District Court for similar offenses.

Munoz-Gomez was arraigned in Hingham District Court Friday.
