Forecast Update: How Much Snow is Coming to Hingham?

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Warning.

HINGHAM, MA - Winter Storm Jonas should be arriving in the area Saturday, bringing a few inches of snow along the way.

Due to the weather, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Hingham. A winter storm warning is issued by the NWS when an average of six or more inches of snow is expected in a 12-hour period, or eight or more inches in a 24-hour period.

Snow will continue through the afternoon and evening, with snowfall rates possibly hitting one to two inches per hour, according to the NWS.

Gusty winds up to 50 mph should be expected. The wind will result in blowing snow and poor visibility at times.

The snow will taper off after midnight.

The warning will expire at 7 a.m. Sunday.

On the forecast front, Hingham will get a few inches. The NWS’ latest forecast has Hingham receiving 6-8 inches while WCVB and WFXT are forecasting 3-6 inches and 3-5 inches.
