Former Framingham High Star Named Hingham Girls Soccer Coach
Sarah Dacey, who won three national titles at North Carolina and played for the Boston Breakers, heads back to high school sideline.
HINGHAM, MA — One of the state's most decorated soccer players of the past three decades is the new coach in charge of the Hingham High girls soccer sideline.
The Harbormen announced that Sarah Dacey — a three-sport Framingham High star and a three-time national champion at the University of North Carolina who played professionally for the Boston Breakers —was picked out of a strong pool of candidates to guide the storied program.
"I could not be more excited to lead a program that has had a winning tradition, multiple teams full of talent, and to be a part of a supportive community," said Dacey, a 1994 Framingham High graduate. "As I start a new chapter in my career, I am as excited as ever to positively influence young females to be the best they can be on the field and in the classroom. My wish is to share my experiences and continue to take the program to new heights.

"I can't wait to meet the team, get started on the field, and hopefully bring another state championship to Hingham High School."
Dacey, who also played college lacrosse at UNC, had recently coached college soccer teams at Babson and Barry. She compiled a 45-15-1 record in four seasons at Barry and was a two-time Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year. At Babson, she coached the Beavers to a .603 winning percentage from 2005 to 2010.

"This is an exciting day, not just for our girls soccer program, but for our school as a whole," Hingham High principal Rick Swanson said. "Our goal at Hingham High School is to create an environment where every student feels known, valued, welcomed and inspired by all of their teachers, including their coaches.
"Sarah Dacey is uniquely qualified to help us deliver on that promise. Her track record of building a positive culture both within and around programs at the highest level is truly exceptional. We look forward to seeing how Sarah's soccer expertise will impact our team's success on the field, but we're even more excited to see the ways in which she helps our student athletes to grow as leaders in the classroom and in the community."
Dacey had also served as an assistant coach at Boston College, Tennessee, Providence and the University of Albany.
"We're incredibly excited to have Sarah be the new coach of our girls soccer program," Hingham Athletic Director Jim Quatromoni said. "While Sarah's coaching track record at the collegiate level speaks for itself, what is really impressive about her is her commitment towards making each individual student athlete at all three levels both a better player and person.
"There is no question that Sarah will be an invaluable member of the Hingham community for years to come."
