Hingham Girls Ski Team Wins Third Straight State Title
Hingham won its third straight Alpine crown behind junior Julia Waal's second straight state giant slalom title.

HINGHAM, MA — The Hingham High girls Alpine ski team celebrated its third straight state title at Berkshire East Mountain on Wednesday. Junior Julia Waal was also a repeat winner Wednesday as she raced to her second straight state title in the giant slalom.
Hingham was third following the morning slalom before blasting through in the giant slalom to win by five seconds in total time over second-place Marblehead. Julia Waal, Jaycee Waal, Kate Rogers, Audrey Cole and Libby MacPherson were the five skiers representing Hingham at the event.
Waal won the giant slalom in 46.9 seconds with Groton-Dunstable’s Chloe Brush second in 47.22. Hingham's Owen Murray was third in the boys giant slalom in 44.03 seconds.
