Hingham Lacrosse Player Is Athlete Of The Year At Lasell College

NEWTON, MA — A lacrosse player from Hingham was named one of Lasell College's athletes of the year at the school's annual awards banquet on Monday night. Senior Ryan Madden was one of five student athletes to be awarded "Athlete of the Year."

Madden is a four-time selection to the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's lacrosse team. He was selected "First Team" the past three seasons, and is this year's GNAC Offensive Player of the Year.

He led the team and ranked second in the conference with a school-record 48 goals and 70 points. This year, Madden became the all-time leading goal scorer with 163 career goals and he is the second player in program history to record more than 200 career points.

Madden was instrumental in helping the Lasers to an undefeated GNAC regular season title this spring and a program-best 16-2 overall record, including 15 straight victories.
