Hingham Loses Patriot Cup Semifinal to Duxbury, 14-10

HINGHAM, MA- The Hingham Harborwomen Girls Lacrosse team faced the Duxbury Dragons on Thursday Afternoon in the Patriot Cup SemiFinals. Hingham lost against Hanover in the 2nd Round double-elimination game and then won against Silver Lake in the 3rd Round. Duxbury won against Scituate in the 2nd Round double-elimination game which the winner automatically advanced to the semifinals.

In the first quarter, Audrey Cole and Shea Berigan both had 2 goals in the quarter which led Hingham in the quarter. Bella Fisher and Campbell Johnson scored for the Duxbury Dragons. Hingham was leading 6-2 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Bella Fisher scored the first goal in the quarter for Duxbury. Then Julia Adamski and Sohpia Prouty scored the next two goals for the Dragons to make it 7-5. Then, Hingham scored another goal to make it 8-5. Then Fisher and Ellie Wall scored the last two goals for Duxbury to make it 8-7 at the end of the first half.

In the third quarter, Bella Fisher tied the game at 8 with her fourth goal of the game. Then, Maddy King scored the go-ahead goal, and then Fisher added two more goals to make it 11-8. Hingham bounced back when Shea Berigan and Makenzie Wilson scored to make it 11-10 at the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Duxbury closed out the game with allowing no goals from Hingham. In the quarter, goals from Anna Sovik and 2 from Sophia Prouty closed out the game for the Dragons as they win against Hingham by the scored of 14-10.

Duxbury will advance to the Patriot Cup finals when they face Hanover, who won against Scituate on Thursday Evening. The championship game will be played on Monday, time is unknown at this moment.
