Hingham Superintendent Decision Expected This Week
A field once consisting of 19 applicants has been narrowed down to three.

HINGHAM, MA — The school committee is expected to vote on who will be the district's next superintendent at Wednesday's meeting. Longtime Superintendent Dorothy Galo is retiring following the 2018-19 school year.
A field once consisting of 19 applicants has been narrowed down to three. The finalists are:
- Paul Austin - Waldo County, Maine superintendent
- Jamie LaBillois - Hingham assistant superintendent
- Earl Metzler - New Hampshire superintendent for schools in Atkinson, Danville, Hampstead, Plaistow and Sandown.
Last month, four finalists visited the district's schools and met office staff, faculty, community members and students. The field was narrowed down to three on Dec. 20, and those candidates have continued to visit the schools.
