UPDATE: Hingham Under Blizzard Warning; Expected to Get 12-18 Inches of Snow

The Blizzard Warning is in effect until 3 a.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

HINGHAM, MA — If you were hoping that Friday's show would be the last of the winter weather for this weekend, you might not want to look outside starting Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard for Hingham and parts of Plymouth County. Residents should expect snow to develop in the morning and spread across the region Saturday afternoon and evening, before tapering off overnight, according to the NWS. During the storm, the area could see 12-18 inches of snow, with the peak of the storm coming between 4-10 p.m.

Winds of 20-30 mph with gusts of 40-45 mph are possible, the NWS said.

The warning is in effect from 7 a.m. Saturday morning to 3 a.m. early Sunday morning.

A Blizzard Warning is issued when there is a potential for sustained winds or frequent gusts over 35 mph with considerable falling or blowing snow. Residents should expect whiteout conditions.
