Hingham's Rustic Kitchen To Close This Month

HINGHAM, MA — A beloved Italian restaurant in Hingham is closing its doors in less than two weeks. The Rustic Kitchen announced on its Facebook page Sunday that it was shuttering after 15 years on Derby Street.

"We would like to thank all of our wonderful guests and our outstanding employees for their many years of loyal service," the Cafarelli Family posted. "Special thanks to the Town of Hingham and WS Development."

The Cafarelli Family said its sister restaurant, Bar Rustic at the Kingston Collection, will stay open under the direction of Chef Joe DiFrancesco. Gift cards purchased for the Hingham location will be redeemable at the Kingston location.

The announcement was met with an outpouring of disappointment from local fans of the restaurant. As of Monday afternoon, the announcement post had received 155 comments — the overwhelming majority expressing sadness that the Rustic Kitchen will soon be no more in Hingham.
