Independent Movie Night, Zoning Appeals Hearings
5 Things: A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Hingham on Jan. 15, 2014.

1. Hingham Public Library hosts Independent Movies Night Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Whiton Room.
2. The Zoning Board of Appeals meets at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
3. The Capital Outlay Committee also meets at Town Hall, at 7 p.m., to hear requests from DPW Engineering and the School Department.

4. Dry and relatively warm – how about that! Wednesday should be sunny with a high approaching 50 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight mostly cloudy, low around 31.
5. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on Jan. 15, 1929, in Atlanta Georgia. He went on, of course, to use nonviolent methods of demonstration to lead the U.S. civil rights movement, becoming the youngest person to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. Four years later he was assassinated in Memphis and this coming Monday we celebrate his memory.
