Interim Hingham Police Chief Chosen For Permanent Position
Interim Police Chief David P. Jones has officially become the town's new permanent police chief.
HINGHAM, MA — The Hingham Board of Selectmen unanimously voted for Interim Police Chief David P. Jones to become the town's new permanent police chief at a virtual meeting Tuesday evening.
Jones, who was first interviewed for the permanent police chief position at the Jan. 26 Board of Selectmen meeting, has been serving as the town's interim police chief since Chief Glenn Olson retired on August 3, 2021.
A member of the Hingham Police Department for over 20 years, Jones has served in multiple positions, including officer, sergeant, lieutenant, and deputy chief. He was the only candidate for the open position.
