Obituary: Neal Tompkins, 18

Neal Joseph Tompkins passed away unexpectedly on July 22, 2015, at the age of 18.

Neal is survived by his parents Kathy and Jeff, sister Meredith and brother JT of Hingham, MA.

Neal was born on April 26th, 1997 in Weymouth, Mass. He recently graduated from Hingham High School in May of this year. Neal was planning on attending the University of Arizona as a resident of the Outdoor Adventures Community and studying at U of A’s Environmental Science College in the fall.

Neal was known for his compassion for others and keen sense of humor. He was innately curious, loved travel, woodworking, photography, astronomy, drama club, and robotics being a cofounder of the newly established Hingham High School Robotics Club. Neal passed away while working as a counselor at Camp Burgess in Sandwich, MA doing what he loved: being outdoors, working with kids, being with friends and goofing around.

A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday July, 29 at the Church of the Resurrection, 1057 Main Street, Hingham, Mass. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Neal’s life.
