Reminder: Hingham Family to Appear on CBS Reality TV Show Tonight

The Briefcase airs on CBS at 8 p.m.

A Hingham family will have a chance to walk away with up to $202,000 on a new reality TV series to air Wednesday night.

The Melanson family, a local family, will be featured on the CBS series “The Briefcase” and will have to decide what to do with over $100,000.

In each episode, two families are given briefcases with $101,000 and must decide if they will keep the money, give some, or all the cash to the other family.

Both families will have 72 hours to learn about each other prior to making their decision. Neither family is aware that the other has an identical briefcase and instructions.

Mark and Cara Melanson currently live on one income while supporting four children and fostering multiple children over six years. Their eldest son started the charity “Guys with Pies” that has raised more than $30,000, and Cara, going back to school to become a lawyer so she can help advocate for foster children and Mark is a firefighter according to a release from CBS.

Locally, the Briefcase airs on WBZ at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays.
