Road Closings For Hingham's Christmas In The Square

HINGHAM, MA — The police department on Friday announced the following roads will be closed for tonight's annual Christmas in the Square celebration.

The schedule for road closures can be found below:

4 p.m. - South Street will be closed in Hingham Square between Main and Central Streets.

4 to 4:30 p.m. - Main St. will be closed at Elm Street to North Street, Traffic will be detoured down Water Street or Elm Street to Hersey Street and then to South Street.

• North Street closes at Lincoln Street and at Fearing Road. Traffic will be detoured at Fearing Road to Burditt Avenue, onto Lincoln Street.
• South Street closes at Hersey St. The street is closed for traffic, but open for residents.
• Central Street closes at Elm Street to North Street. Traffic will be detoured to Hersey Street from Main Street to Water Street.

Police suggest people traveling in the area stay on Route 3A to avoid delays. All roads are expected to open by 9 p.m.
