South Shore Conservatory Holds Annual Performathon at Barnes & Noble in Hingham
SSC's popular three-day fundraiser returns!

South Shore Conservatory (SSC) is proud to announce that Barnes & Noble in Hingham will once again host their annual performance marathon Performathon - Kids Helping Kids. For the second year in a row, the fundraiser is so popular with SSC students that it takes over the bookstore for three days. Performathon 2015 is scheduled for Friday, April 10 from 4 pm to 9 pm; Saturday, April 11, from 9 am to 6 pm; and Sunday, April 12, from 12 pm to 5 pm.
Performathon offers SSC students of all ages the opportunity to hone their performing skills out in the community, as they help raise money for SSC’s Scholarship Fund by soliciting pledges from sponsors. Last year, well over 300 Conservatory students participated in Performathon and raised over 20% of the total financial aid budget.
Over the three-day period, Performathon participants perform in hourly “sets” throughout the day. Audience members stay for one, two or more “sets,” and have time to browse the aisles of Barnes & Noble. Performances include solo and chamber pieces on piano, saxophone, flute, trumpet, guitar, oboe, clarinet, percussion, violin, viola and cello, as well as voice.
