Traffic Light Coming To Old Derby Street-Route 3 Intersection
The MassDOT project is expected to improve the flow of traffic on Derby Street and is expected to cost a little under $5 million.

HINGHAM, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced a plan to add a traffic light and several other road improvements to the intersection of Old Derby Street and Route 3. The project is expected to be completed by April 2020.
The project began last spring, and along with the traffic light, includes plans for sidewalks, bike lanes, and a new travel lane on Derby Street, as well as a realigning of the highway ramps where Old Derby Street and Route 3 meet. When the project is completed, there will be a four-way intersection where Old Derby Street and the ramps meet.
The project is expected to improve the flow of traffic on Derby Street and is expected to cost a little under $5 million, MassDOT spokeswoman Judi Riley told the Hingham Journal.
