Coastal Flood Watch Issued for Hingham
The warning will remain in effect from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

HINGHAM, MA - The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather warning for Hingham. The warning will remain in effect until 7 a.m. Sunday.
A winter storm warning is issued by the NWS when an average of six or more inches of snow is expected in a 12-hour period, or eight or more inches in a 24-hour period.
Snow will continue through the afternoon and evening, with snowfall rates possibly hitting one to two inches per hour, according to the NWS.

Gusty winds up to 50 mph should be expected. The wind will result in blowing snow and poor visibility at times.
The snow will taper off after midnight.

The warning will expire at 7 a.m. Sunday.
Also issued was a coastal flood advisory from 9 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday and a coastal flood watch from 10 a.m. Sunday to 2 p.m.
The NWS issues a coastal flood watch when the potential for moderate or major coastal flooding exists. Moderate coastal flooding can produce widespread flooding of vulnerable shore roads and basements due to the high of storm tides and wave action.
