Assembly Row Cocktail Bar Announces Temporary Closure

SOMERVILLE, MA — A cocktail spot at Assembly Row will shut down for the season. River Bar announced its closure Monday "until such time that it is safe to reopen."

The bar joins a growing number of area restaurants, including several in Somerville, that have gone into hibernation for the winter. The dining spots plan to reopen when the weather is nicer or a treatment for the coronavirus is more widely available.

"Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, for the health, safety and well-being of our staff, guests and community, River Bar has decided to temporarily close until such time that it is safe to reopen," a statement on the restaurant's website reads.
