Curtatone: 'Take Down That Flag And Burn It'

While hardly voicing an unpopular opinion, the mayor Somerville took to social media on Friday to alleviate any doubts regarding his opinion of the continued display of the confederate flag at the South Carolina state house.

“Outrage and disgust are the proper responses to this,” wrote Mayor Joseph Curtatone. “Forget about half-staff, someone should take down that flag and burn it.”

The confederate flag has come under much scrutiny recently, following the racially-motivated mass murder at AME Church in Charleston, S.C., on Wednesday, June 17.
