DA Ryan Schools Somerville Kids On Summer Safety
The DA stopped by the Somerville Department of Recreation Summer Camp Thursday to highlight safety tips and play Summer Safety Jeopardy.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan visited 85 campers Thursday at the Somerville Department of Recreation Summer Camp. The children, ages 6-13, learned how to keep themselves and others safe this summer at a forum headlined by Somerville Deputy Police Chief Stephen Carrabino, Somerville Fire Chief Patrick Sullivan and Ryan.
Ryan spoke to campers about water, car, window, bike and fireworks safety, highlighting important tips for children such as never swimming alone, calling 911 if you see a child alone in a car, never playing near open windows, wearing a bike helmet and never playing with fireworks or sparklers.
After the talk campers played a game of Summer Safety Jeopardy to show off their knowledge. Ryan called upon the campers to serve as Summer Safety Ambassadors and share the information they learned with family members, especially cousins and siblings.
