Dark Horse Public House, Former On The Hill Tavern, Shutting Down

SOMERVILLE, MA — A Magoun Square bar that replaced a longtime watering hole four years ago is shutting down.

The Dark Horse Public House, formerly On the Hill Tavern, is holding a "yard sale" of various bar items, according to Boston Restaurant Talk, which first reported the story. A post on the bar's Facebook page confirmed the closure, saying "a raised rent sinks all ships."

On The Hill Tavern was rebranded following an ownership change in 2017.

The bar is located at 499 Broadway in Somerville.
