Employee Of Somerville Restaurant Tests Positive For COVID-19

A Davis Square pizzeria and wine bar closed Wednesday after learning one of its workers tested positive for the coronavirus.

SOMERVILLE, MA — An employee of a pizzeria and wine bar in Davis Square has tested positive for COVID-19. Posto Somerville will close Wednesday evening to be cleaned and sanitized, and every staff member will take a coronavirus test.

"We will reopen our doors as soon as it's safe to do so," a statement on the restaurant's Facebook page reads. "The safety of our guests, staff and their families remains paramount, and we are committed to doing all we can to control the spread of this extremely contagious novel virus."

The restaurant has notified local health officials in Somerville of the positive test. The employee is "doing ok, and we are sending them all our love while they recover," the statement continued.

Posto has another location in Bedford. The restaurant offers a variety of wood-fired pizza and pasta dishes, as well as cocktails, beer and wine.
