Heavy Rains, Strong Winds to Hit Somerville Wednesday

An intensifying storm will bring heavy rains and strong winds to Somerville Wednesday afternoon. The messy conditions will linger and last into Thursday. The weather system will be accompanied with the potential for severe threats.

These threats include strong to damaging winds, widespread heavy rain with embedded, heavier downpours and thunderstorms (some of which may become severe), according to the National Weather Forecast.

For towns and cities on the coast, expect the storm to bring minor coastal/tidal flooding and gale force wind gusts across the waters.

The rain is expected to start late Wednesday afternoon between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., just in time for the evening commute. Stormy conditions will continue through Thursday morning.
